Atria: Putting Flagstaff on the Culinary Map Once Again
The Flagstaff Restaurant is One of 12 Arizona Restaurants to Earn a “MICHELIN Recommended” Designation — and the Only One Outside Metro Phoenix
Flagstaff, Ariz. (Aug. 27, 2026) – Atria, the modern American restaurant in Flagstaff owned and operated by chef Rochelle Daniel, was named a MICHELIN Guide Recommended restaurant on Wednesday night at the inaugural ceremony for the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest in Las Vegas.
The honor makes Atria one of the first restaurants recognized in the Southwest's MICHELIN Guide. Atria was one of 12 Arizona restaurants to earn a Recommended designation, part of a broader group of 19 Arizona restaurants named in the debut guide across all categories, including Bib Gourmand and special awards.
The recognition came at the invite-only ceremony for the guide's foray into the region, covering Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Every other Arizona restaurant included in the guide calls the Phoenix metro area home, making Atria the only honoree from Flagstaff, the mountain town north of the Valley where Daniel introduced fine dining in the heart of the city’s historic downtown.
At Atria, that distinction shows up on the plate: a menu built on the hyperlocal, foraged and seasonal bounty of the high desert, where fine seafood and hearty steaks share the table with house-made pastas.
"I'm grateful to be recognized alongside such a talented group of chefs and restaurateurs across Arizona and the Southwest," said Daniel. "None of this happens without my team, many of whom have been with me since we opened our doors in 2021. And I owe a lot to this community, too, for believing in fine dining in Flagstaff long before there was any reason to. This recognition motivates me to keep raising the bar."
Rochelle Daniel is an acclaimed chef and restaurateur at the forefront of Arizona's thriving culinary scene, known for her thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach to fine dining. An Arizona native, she honed her craft as executive chef at L'Auberge de Sedona and Fat Ox in Scottsdale before opening Atria, earning induction into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame in 2017 as Best Upcoming Chef along the way. Her success has since drawn national attention, including two James Beard Foundation semifinalist selections for 2026 Best Chef: Southwest and 2022 Emerging Chef.
This fall, Daniel is expanding her footprint in downtown Flagstaff with two new concepts, Pompette and Little Rich Girl (LRG), both set to join Atria on the same historic block. Pompette is an all-day French bistro and bakery that brings comfort and elegance together in a lively atmosphere, offering both full-service and quick, grab-and-go options, featuring fresh-baked pastries daily. Little Rich Girl is an underground speakeasy-style cocktail bar and lounge offering elevated bar bites and craft cocktails in an intimate hideaway. The openings are expected in late September.
