On Tuesday, primary elections will be held for multiple Coconino County and state-wide offices.
The August 28 election is an open partisan primary, meaning a voter who is registered with a recognized political party will receive a ballot for the political party indicated on their voter registration form. The recognized political parties for the 2012 elections are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green and Americans Elect Party. If a voter is registered with no party affiliation or with an unrecognized political party (Non-Partisan, Independent, Other or other preference), the voter must designate a Republican, Democratic, Green Party or Americans Elect ballot when voting at the polls.
