Congratulations to Loven Contracting!
Flagstaff’s own Loven Contracting, a Northern Arizona construction services firm since 1985, was recognized today
as a VPP Star in the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety & Health’s Voluntary Protection (VPP) program.
Presenting the award were ICA Commissioners Scott P. LeMarr and Steven Krenzel, as well as Jessie Atencio,
Interim Director of ADOSH, in a ceremony at the Arizona State Capitol.
“Loven Contracting continues to work alongside ADOSH to improve their safety and health culture and ensure that
all employees go home safely at the end of the day. We are proud to recognize the amazing work they do.” Said
Jessie Atencio, Interim Director of ADOSH.
“We truly appreciate the state’s and ICA’s recognition of the tremendous work it takes to build a culture of safety
and to achieve the VPP standard in our industry. A safe jobsite is not only healthier for the team on the ground, it
also contributes to more efficient projects built to a higher quality standard, which is better for the project owner”,
said Loven Contracting Founder and President, Mike Loven. “We are proud to offer these benefits to our staff,
trade partners, and to our Arizona clients.”
In practice, VPP sets performance-based criteria for a managed safety and health program, and then assesses
applicants against these criteria. ADOSH’s verification includes rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of ADOSH
safety experts. Loven Contracting is the only company in Flagstaff to achieve this high standard.
