The Community & Economic Development Committee of the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce is dissecting the major proposed re-write of the city’s zoning code. The committee members are undergoing intensive “Zoning 101” session with Zoning Code Administrator Roger Eastman, as well as joint meetings with the Government Affairs Committees of the Northern Arizona Association of REALTORS and the Northern Arizona Building Association. These joint sessions have allowed the committee to talk directly with City Council members, who will vote on the proposed changes next year.
The Chamber weighed in with the City Council last week, asking that the zoning code be reviewed an adopted chapter by chapter, which will give all interested parties adequate time to digest and comment on this very important document. The Council has decided to take that approach.
