Andrea Green, Flag Wool and Fiber Festival

Andrea Green, Director of Flag Wool and Fiber Festival, describes the history of handmade textiles in Northern Arizona. The Festival is all about celebrating art and history of textiles made by Flagstaff locals and residents in the surrounding area. Their main goal is the display the beginning to end process of textile production, from the animal and plant growers all the way to dying and spinning the yarns. The Wool and Fiber Festival has been around since 1996, and has grown to include live shearing, dying and weaving lessons. In 2015 they reached out to the Navajo Reservation to involve more locals and display the beautiful textiles that they create.
