Ancient Landscapes of the Colorado Plateau
Geologists Dr. Ron Blakey and Wayne Ranney reveal that ordinary rocks beneath our feet are a kind of time machine, allowing us to know a past that existed long before humans. The breathtaking landscape of the Colorado Plateau and the American Southwest has been “under construction” for millions, even billions, of years. Historically, geologists have been the only ones privileged to know the details of these ancient landscapes. In this exhibit, you will be transported back in time through the magic contained in layers of rock.
