BUY DINE STAY
The “Buy Dine Stay in Flagstaff” program is a campaign that was created by the Flagstaff Chamber’s Small Business Division in January 2006, which focuses on the needs of smaller businesses and organizations that do not have the resources of larger corporations to promote their business. The local buying campaign encourages residents and visitors alike to “shop local” and educates the public about the importance of buying locally. When you “buy local”, not only are you helping a local business thrive in Flagstaff but you are also helping support the infrastructure of the community through the tax dollars earned. “Whether you’re a resident, a visitor or another business, each time you ‘buy in Flagstaff,’ a fireman gets paid, a street gets paved and a park gets plants,” said Monika Leuenberger of Avenues of the World, spokeswoman for the campaign. Many efforts have been made to bring public awareness to the program including distribution of “Buy Dine Stay in Flagstaff” decals to local member businesses and a newspaper ad campaign launched in late November 2006 encouraging residents to “Shop local this holiday season.” So what are you waiting for, get out there and BUY DINE STAY in Flagstaff!
