Skills for Success at Perot Systems

This Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce signature workforce development initiative partners Chamber members with middle- and high-school classrooms to teach students the life, or “soft,” skills that are necessary to be successful in the workplace.

Flagstaff teachers and school counselors have told the Chamber how these interactions with businesses create “light bulb” moments. Students learn that they do not have to leave Flagstaff after high school or college in order to have meaningful careers. Businesses commit to meeting with their classroom at least twice. One of the meetings is a field trip to the business, so the students can see first-hand the work being done by the business or organization.
